It’s not too late join me at the 15th Annual World of Pinot Noir, Friday and Saturday at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Goleta, a few miles from Santa Barbara. Tickets are still available for many of the events.
The affair brings pinot noir producers together with more than 2,000 enthusiasts for a weekend of celebration and education. Friday will feature a pair of seminars moderated by world-renowned wine expert Jancis Robinson, a walk-around tasting of pinot noir from more than 100 wineries, a Burgundy winemaker dinner with Alexandrine Roy from Domaine Marc Roy, and three additional focused and intimate dinners including guest chefs David Rosner from Wine Cask Restaurant and Frank Ostini from Hitching Post II Restaurant.
Saturday’s schedule includes an educational Burgundy seminar, another walk-around tasting from more than 125 wineries, and three special evening dinners including the Rock Stars of Pinot Noir Dinner honoring Jim Clendenen (Au Bon Climat), the Vintage Burgundy Dinner hosted by Master Sommelier Fred Dame, and the Crystal Anniversary Dinner.
A portion of the profits from the World of Pinot Noir silent auction benefits the Michael Bonaccorsi Foundation associated with the viticulture program at Allan Hancock College, and the Keith Patterson Memorial Endowment at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
