A Newport Beach Interior Designer’s Eclectic Living Room

Corre Larkin discovered her passion for design five years ago when she bought a house in Newport Beach after living in England for nearly a decade. Finding most items from consignment, thrift stores, and estate sales, Larkin mixes English countryside, California cool, and touches of art deco in her living room. “If you walk into this house, you feel like someone lives here and there’s a story behind stuff,” Larkin says. “I hate the feeling of walking in and (thinking) you could be in a beautiful hotel.”

Art // “I found these at estate sales, and then I spray-painted them.”

Pillows // “These are Pierce & Ward pillows. I love the Old World (feel).”

Stool // “It’s an African milking stool carved from one piece of wood, but I use it as a drinks table.”

Rug // “This is an antique that’s probably 120 years old.”

Table // “A vintage dealer was selling this ’80s table, and I snapped it up.”

Chair // “I bought deer hides in Tennessee and then reupholstered these midcentury modern chairs.”
