Neiman Marcus has a new holiday gift shop. Well, kind of.
On Level One near the escalator is Ken’s Gift Collection. That would be Ken Downing, NM’s fashion director and guru of good taste. The “boutique” showcases 37 of Downing’s favorite things—fun and festive objects that range from knitted sock monkeys to opulent scented candles to “kitty” velvet slippers (I’ll take the Chanel nail polish collection, please!). Items range from $32 to $1,800, and the choices are disparate enough to fulfill the wishes of both male and female, young and younger on your list. (You can shop the collection online here.)
What’s unusual about this little display, besides its wide-ranging assortment, is that it’s the first time ever that Neiman Marcus has donated a percentage of proceeds to a philanthropic organization, in this case Irvine Public Schools Foundation’s music education program.
So, you get to buy an Alexander McQueen metallic clutch with iconic clasp AND benefit a local charity.
Now that’s the spirit.
