We’re all familiar with the food truck craze, but now there’s a new kind of truck to get excited about. Pekok Within Boutique is Orange County’s first fashion truck to hit the streets. The peculiar name is intended to encourage customers to embrace the idea of peacocking, or “Pekoking”: using fashion as a means to attract attention and distinguish oneself. The new business is taking part in the Fourth of July event at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina July 4th from noon to 10 p.m. and July 5th from 1 to 10 p.m.
Based in Newport Beach, the Pekok Within truck is a 1996 Step Van with wood floors, a 42-inch flat screen TV, and spacious dressing rooms. It houses wares for both men and women, chosen by owners Brittney and Branigan Lee and representing a roster of designers such as Ruby Starling, UNIF, Max Rich Denim, Lush, Missing Link Ties, Jammy Packs, and Stone Jewels (worn by celebrities Jessica Alba and Naomi Campbell).
Tickets to the Fourth of July event start at $25 per person. For more information check out newportdunes.com/event/4th-of-july-newport-beach.
Can’t make the event? Don’t worry—you can rent the truck for personal or business use. Find out more about booking the Pekok Within at pekokwithin.com.
