Is There Anything About Yorba Linda That Doesn’t Involve Richard Nixon?

Probably the second-most-famous Yorba Lindan was author Jessamyn West (1902-1984). Her 1945 novel about a pacifist Quaker farm family during the Civil War, “The Friendly Persuasion,” became a 1956 movie starring Gary Cooper and Dorothy McGuire. And her books “Cress Delehanty” (1953) and “South of the Angels” (1960) drew on her memories of growing up in rural Orange County. Jessamyn West Park now occupies part of her family’s old farm. Yorba Linda was a small town back then. Did I mention West was Nixon’s second cousin? Sorry.
