Lil Places We Love: Laguna Beach Institution Husky Boy Burgers

Once family-owned but now privately operated by Viva Laguna Inc., the drive-in style eatery—still in its original Coast Highway location since it opened in 1951—offers a variety of grilled burgers made in-house.

The signature sandwich is the Husky Burger: up to three beef patties with pastrami, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, raw onions, and Thousand Island dressing, all served on a bun ($8). All burgers are made to order, and come served with a side of fries and a drink for $3 more. Living up to its slogan of “Not Just Great Burgers,” other sandwiches on the menu include gyros, Philly cheese steak, and tuna. Order a thick shake, find a seat outside, and enjoy a wonderful view of the Pacific.
