The holiday season is about giving, but let’s be honest: it’s also about getting. We’ve already found something to top our holiday wish list: The Gwen Stefani Palette for Urban Decay ($58).
According to Urban (Decay) legend, O.C.’s original “It Girl” Gwen Stefani—a super hyphenate who rules the worlds of music, TV and style—spent hours hanging with UD founder and Newport Beach resident Wende Zomnir to come up with the eyeshadow palette of their combined cool-girl dreams.
The 15-shade palette includes 12 brand-new Urban Decay shades and 3 classic UD hues that are said to be Stefani faves.
Stefani, who fronted the band No Doubt in the ’80s and ’90s, is a self-professed make-up freak known for her red lips, a look she has attributed to her admiration of chola girls in the Anaheim neighborhood where she grew up, and her passion for old Hollywood glamour.
Appropriately, the result of her UD collab doesn’t just include the Newport Beach-based line’s signature saturated jewel-tones, but also has lots of Stefani’s go-to neutrals. Which makes sense because along with her ruby lip (she nearly single-handedly resurrected the glamorous red lip in the early ’00s … please, oh, please Gwen, design a lipstick!) Stefani usually rocks a neutral lid defined by sharp cat-eye liner.
As per usual, UD gave the individual hues in the palette awesome and Stefani-specific names such as “Anaheim” (a light taupe brown matte), “Pop” (a shimmery coral), “Harajuku” (a metallic pink) and “1987” (gold).
We’re so pumped to get our hands on Urban Decay’s Gwen Stefani palette, we may have to camp out at the Fashion Island store when it lands in December. Or, you could be smart and buy it a week earlier (Nov. 22) online at urbandecay.com, but act fast because if it’s anything like UD’s other launches, the Gwen Stefani palette will be gone before you know it.
