We’re told that a hundred tickets are still available for O.C.’s red-carpet Golden Foodie Awards, and you can get them starting on Aug. 3. If rubbing elbows with the foodie elite of Orange County isn’t lure enough for you, please note the following delectable sips and sweets that are in store at the Sept. 28th soiree. You might call them “golden.”
Valenza Chocolatier will showcase its exclusive to FGA Bonbons of Gold, adult peanut butter cups wrapped in 23-carat edible gold-dusted shells. B. Toffee’s offering its decadent handcrafted toffee confections, and Casey’s Cupcakes is preparing Golden Velvet Cupcakes—red velvet cakes frosted and dusted with 24-carat gold dust and glitter. Tempting Gold Kissed Spheres known as Golden Chocolate Roches, created by pastry chef Jeffrey Kahle of the Fairmont Newport Beach, are also on the roster.
If you need a refresher after all these sweet treats, you can wash them down with Piper-Heidsieck Champagne, Patron XO, Chambord, and Kean Coffee. Kean will serve a Golden Affogato, a shot of Golden Mean Espresso drizzled over After’s Artisan Vanilla Ice Cream. For something a bit more exotic, ARC bartender Koire Rogers will whip up his hand-crafted Kanantik cocktail, inspired by the tropical fruits of Belize.
Tickets are $200 at goldenfoodieawards.com.
