Stuff We Love is suuuuper excited for a rare treat. French designer Anne Fontaine will present her Spring Summer 2016 collection at South Coast Plaza on March 31. We’re totally stoked because we love Fontaine’s particular brand of feminine and sophisticated style; her clothes exude a French vintage vibe but also manage to look modern at the same time.
Fontaine, who recently moved to New York, is known for her ongoing and regular reinvention of the classic white shirt.
“The white shirt is my signature item, every season I create about 150 new designs. The white shirt is like a white painting with endless possibilities,” Fontaine has said.

The fashionista closet staple is embellished, restructured and reimagined by Fontaine with details such as sheer panels, lace, cut outs, ribbons and ruffles. For 2016, Fontaine has said she was inspired by nature, so she added colorful floral elements as well.

Black and white also plays a role in Fontaine’s SS 2016 collection which looks fresh, unfussy, and classic. The collection features swingy black sheath dresses with white border prints, A-line skirts with leather yokes and trim, and waist-nipping blazers with ruched or crocheted backs as well as cropped moto-jackets in burn-out velvet.

Fontaine’s line will be showcased in a runway show at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, in the Jewel Court at South Coast Plaza, 3333 Bristol St., Costa Mesa. Fontaine will make an appearance at the Anne Fontaine Boutique at 7 p.m. For information please call 714-435-2022.
