On Sunday, November 17, join thousands of people to experience Beach Boulevard like never before during “Meet on Beach.” The inaugural community festival connects seven Orange County cities – La Habra, Buena Park, Anaheim, Stanton, Garden Grove, Westminster, Huntington Beach – to transform the 21-mile historic corridor into a more bike and pedestrian-friendly street festival for a day. The event celebrates the diversity of the iconic boulevard and promotes active transportation, healthy communities, and economic development along the historic corridor through art, activations, performances, hands-on workshops, and community pride.
Meet on Beach kicks off in the hills of La Habra as bicyclists cruise down the Coyote Creek Bikeway. An abundance of family-fun will welcome event-goers with arts and crafts from the La Habra Children’s Museum, BMX and CrossFit demonstrations, and a Zumbathon.
Then, bike, walk, or roll along 1.5 miles of car-free streets connecting the Cities of Buena Park and Anaheim along Beach Blvd. Musicians, dancers, and artists will breathe new life into the first-ever Orange County open streets event connecting La Palma Ave. to Orange Ave. including hands-on activities like bike decorating and sidewalk art, family-friendly games and crafts, rock wall climbing, apop-up hockey skating rink complete with a visit from the Anaheim Ducks Street Team and Wild Wing himself local food trucks, and live entertainment from dance to rock and roll.
Walk or ride to hands-on workshops at Stanton’s Walkable Streets Lab and experience traffic safety through a new entertaining lens. Jump into the action with a kids fun zone and enjoy local performances on the entertainment stage, all-new street furniture, and an inflatable obstacle course from America on Track as part of the Mayor’s Fitness Challenge. In Garden Grove, indulge in local food trucks, oversized lawn games, and make your way around the “Safe Moves City” interactive exhibit. Then head over to Westminster’s Civic Center for a fun, active and healthy community event including music and games, free face painting, jump in the kid-friendly bounce house or try out the bike skills rodeo course.
Meet on Beach culminates in Huntington Beach for a family-friendly lively festival complete with local food, live music and entertainment by the Ramsey Brothers Band, BMX demonstrations, a bike rodeo by the Huntington Beach Police Department, an endurance course, photo ops with coastal views, and more!
