PLEIN AIR PAINTING EXHIBITION
The group exhibition, presented in conjunction with the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, spotlights some of the best contemporary plein-air artists. ANNA MARIA MENDIETA
Mendieta is known in classical music circles as being one of the first to play tango music on the harp. She has performed with symphonies and chamber music groups around the world, including the San Francisco Symphony and the Russian National Orchestra; she is the principal harpist with the Sacramento Philharmonic & Opera. “LONG TIME GONE”
The concert pays tribute to the music of Crosby, Stills & Nash, whose singular sound has influenced folk and rock musicians worldwide since the 1960s. DORRANCE DANCE
Led by artistic director Michelle Dorrance, recipient of a MacArthur Genius Grant, the dance troupe aims to preserve and further the art of tap dancing. MEN ALIVE: RHINESTONE COWBOYS
The Orange County Gay Men’s Chorus performs nothing but country tunes in this concert. WILDLIFE AND HABITAT GARDENS
Two free gardening classes will focus on how to support monarch butterflies and pollinators in a daylong event. Gardening enthusiasts can learn about cultivating milkweed, one of the best food sources for the monarch, and the kinds of plants that are both beautiful and good for pollinators like honeybees. “FIGURES, POSES AND GLANCES: THE CODED ILLUSTRATIONS OF J.C. LEYENDECKER”
This exhibit, put on in collaboration with the Nicholas and Lee Begovich Gallery at Cal State Fullerton, explores the work of Leyendecker, an early 20th-century American illustrator who wove queer coding into his work.
