Opened in September at Dana Point Harbor, this seafood restaurant launches gourmet picnic-basket service for meals on the beach or boat—or simply for when you don’t feel like cooking. Options include a seafood basket ($35 per person) featuring a sampling of house-smoked fish, shrimp cocktail, ceviche, pickled onions, and artisan breads; a sandwich and salad basket, above, including a lobster hoagie ($28 per person); and a cheese and charcuterie basket ($22 per person). Each basket comes with appropriate beverages, such as white, red, or sparkling wine or craft beers, and seasonal house-made mustards and jellies. Order 24 hours in advance.
Chef John Cuevas’ resume includes stints as executive chef at the Montage Beverly Hills and The Crow Bar & Kitchen in Corona del Mar. The restaurant buys wild-caught fish from local fishermen.
