Puesto Bella Terra features an airy covered patio and a spacious, open dining room with modern yet earthy touches. Other highlights of the 7,600-square-foot space include a mesmerizing, parametric LED wave wall that reflects the coastal community of Huntington Beach. There is also a steel liquor carousel and signature liquor-shelving units. Even the bathroom mirrors feature a unique design element with playful animated neon sayings such as “You had me at tacos.”
The setting serves as the perfect backdrop for the restaurant’s renowned tacos with blue corn stone-ground tortillas and signature crispy melted cheese. The exhibition kitchen is helmed by Mexico City native and executive chef-partner Luisteen Gonzalez. On top of tacos, eat your way through a variety of items including esquite (grilled corn), chips and guacamole, ceviche, salads, and the wood oven-fired enchiladas served in a skillet. The dishes are served in vibrant, handmade plates and bowls sourced from New York.
Beau du Bois, Puesto’s bar and spirits creative director, presents a robust lineup of margaritas along with curated agave spirits from Mexico and specialty cocktails such as the Passionfruit Mule with Grey Goose vodka and Fever Tree ginger beer. You can also try Mexican-style beer brewed from the restaurant’s own Puesto Cervecería in Mission Valley, San Diego. Nonalcoholic beverages include housemade agua fresca and Straus frozen horchata (with proceeds of the drink going to charity).
“Despite being a very challenging year for restaurants, in general, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support that the Orange County community has shown Puesto – so much so, that is has only gotten us more energized and excited to bring the community this beautiful location in the Bella Terra Center,” says Eric Adler, co-founder of Puesto.
Puesto has two other locations in Irvine (Los Olivos and Park Place) with one in Anaheim set to open this summer.
