One of Tustin’s Most Original Tea Shops • Zama Tea

One of Tustin’s oldest buildings now houses its most original tea shop: Zama Tea. It opened late last year and was inspired by owner Leanne Herrera’s experience with tea and its health benefits. The name is personal, too, a reference to Camp Zama, Japan, where Herrera was born. Zama Tea offers more than 100 loose-leaf varieties, many of which are organic. And, by working hand-in-hand with growers from across the globe, Herrera ensures that each tea is top quality. She also makes some of the blends herself, which means you’ll find teas here that you can’t buy anywhere else. Best of all, Zama recently opened a 14-foot kombucha bar. Kombucha (a fermented, probiotic tea) is a healthier alternative to soda or iced coffee, and Zama has 10 unique flavors on tap. Shop here for teapots and iced-tea makers as well. 434 El Camino Real, 714-884-3449,
