Throughout the month of April, Ross Pangilinan, the talented and delightful chef-owner of downtown Santa Ana’s Mix Mix Kitchen BarOrange Coast’s 2017 Restaurant of the Year—is offering diners a celebratory 4-course prix-fixe menu for just $40. It’s a great way to try some of his most popular dishes, many of which are highlighted and pictured in the magazine’s April restaurant issue: Duck and French Toast, Market House-Made Pasta, and Albacore Tostada. Menu below.

Tuna Poke Nachos – avocado, sea weed, radish, chicharrones

Albacore Tostada – orange pepper, Sriracha mayo, ginger soy, cilantro, guacamole

Local Goat Cheese Toast – seasonal fruit, honey, petite herbs

Chorizo and Potato Croquettes – Oaxaca cheese, jalapeno lime aioli

Roasted Broccoli – gochujang, citrus, cashews

Filipino Ceviche – yellow fin tuna, coconut lime, avocado, pork cracklings, Thai chili   

Pork Cheek Adobo – garlic fried rice, crispy shallots   

Market Salad – Gem lettuce, blue cheese, pepitas, grapes, apple, tangerine, 

pomegranate vinaigrette   

Soft Egg Raviolo – herb ricotta, black pepper pasta, guanciale, parmesan, brown butter

Duck and French Toast – five spice maple, Szechuan pepper cider jus, blackberries

New York Steak – calamansi-soy hollandaise, crispy onions, warm potato salad   


Chocolate tart – fresh blackberries, whipped crème fraiche

Tropical Verrine – passion fruit gelee, coconut panna cotta, tropical fruit, macadamia nuts
