Mayor’s Table At Lido House Hotel Specializes in Seafood and ‘Vegetable-Forward Cuisine’

It comes as no surprise that the boutique Lido House hotel, on the site of Newport Beach’s old city hall, has a chic, beachy vibe that includes a multi-story mermaid enjoying a glass of bubbly. Executive chef/partner Riley Huddleston—a former chef, mixologist, and restaurateur in New York and Chicago—oversees Mayor’s Table, the hotel’s restaurant that specializes in seafood and “vegetable-forward cuisine.” The dining room, with its raw bar, chef’s counter, and open kitchen, is a seamless mix of contemporary and vintage elements such as a new-school chandelier of golden orbs and a wall of photos of former mayors. On the menu: crispy California avocado with Calabrian chile mayo and puffed corn; Dungeness crab-stuffed doughnuts with house-made hot sauce; petite filet mignon with foraged mushrooms; and a chamomile crème brulée tart. Topside Roof Deck, the city’s only rooftop bar, offers cocktails that include the Old Fashioned-inspired Lido Fashion.
