Now through August, $40 prix fixe dinners sizzle at BoD/Steak, chef-owner Dee Nguyen’s limited-run pop-up venture. Perfectly butchered steak, grilled to sublime medium rare, stars in a four-course feast that also includes piping hot fries, kabocha-mushroom bisque, black-garlic butter for fluffy Parker House rolls by OC Baking Co., and a crisp salad with miso vinaigrette. Insiders report the steak’s herb coulis is irresistible, hence its nickname, “crack sauce.” A handful of enticing starters and desserts are $8 upgrades. Add the old vine zinfandel from Bedrock for $10 glass ($40 bottle). Reservations only for parties of six or more.
