The Craftsman-style bungalow on Coast Highway in Laguna Beach that served as home to The Cottage restaurant for nearly 50 years celebrates its centennial next year with a new tenant, Urth Caffé. Urth got its start in Manhattan Beach as an organic heirloom coffee company and has grown to include half a dozen cafes, most in L.A. It’s still known for its heirloom coffee drinks, as well as tea and boba, but the menu at the fast-casual Laguna location is extensive. Favorites include sticky buns, Eggs Salmone on brioche, above, prosciutto panini, the signature Urth salad with kalamata olives and hearts of palm, and Nori plum rice wrap—as well as cakes, pies, and vegan desserts. Look for the colorful globe on the patio out front.
