Bite: Introducing O.C. Meets Napa & Baja

On the evening of July 18, more than a dozen local Latino chefs will join forces in a wine-and-dine fundraiser for the community healthcare nonprofit AltaMed. O.C. Meets Napa & Baja, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Mission San Juan Capistrano, will include the cooking of Danny Godinez of Anepalco’s Cafe, Carlos Salgado of Taco Maria, and Gabbi Patrick of Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen. Patrick, above, says, “We’re so excited to be part of this festival that showcases Latin cuisine and serves a great cause. We love the idea of regional cuisine from Baja, Napa, and Orange County coming together.” Premier wineries from Baja, and from Napa’s Mexican American Vintner Association (MAVA), will be offered. AltaMed’s East L.A. Meets Napa has sold out annually for 10 years, and organizers expect the same for O.C.’s inaugural event. Tickets are $125 per person and available at altamed.org/ocmeetsnapaandbaja.
