November Travel News: ‘Hunger Games’ Theme Park

It’s coming to Georgia. And while it may be a few years before it opens, when developers announce plans to turn your favorite post-apocalyptic dystopia into a reality, well, you get word out as quickly as possible. The Lionsgate franchise has been licensed to Avatron Park, which plans to spend as much as $750 million on the park. There’ll be roller coasters, but they won’t be the marquee attraction. Avatron plans to create an immersive experience: When visitors enter the park they’ll be entering the troubled world of Panem, where people hunt other people, and untold citizens died in a bloody revolution—a perfect place to stroll with cotton candy and souvenir plastic tumblers.
