Next month, Universal Studios Hollywood will cut the ribbon on its newest attraction, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The experience is immersive, to say the least: visitors can wander the streets of Diagon Alley, be “chosen” by a wand at Ollivanders, and feel at home in Hagrid’s Cabin. It’s not all sightseeing and retail, though: Stop by the Hog’s Head Pub and tuck into a plate of bangers and mash, taste Butterbeer and Pumpkin Juice, and go berserk in Honeydukes Sweet Shop, where you’ll find Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. If none of this makes any sense to you, go anyway, but bring along a Harry Potter fan as a guide: J.K. Rowling writes of an earwax-flavored Every Flavour Bean, and you’ll want an expert to steer you clear of it.
