Orange County Fine Arts Showcase Gallery will preview their new exhibition “California Inspirations”, featuring representational artist Iriet Peshkess, on Wednesday, June 24th. Opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 27 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the gallery located at 3851 S. Bear Street, Santa Ana, CA.
Iriet is a California-inspired artist, interpreting the environment and its people, eliciting mood as well as scene. Her work in traditional media (watercolor, acrylic, pastel) and digital media pulls you in, and you examine the connection to our humanity and her place in the California sun.
“Digital Media is much like traditional painting only more versatile. I use a pen and tablet that function like paint and paper. I choose a stroke, the amount of paint the brush will hold, oil, watercolor or pastel. I like this medium because I can mix different media in unique ways that traditional media does not allow,” says Peshkess.
