During her courageous 10-month fight with two brain tumors, 12 year old Jessie Rees asked her parents to “please help every kid fighting cancer to Never Ever Give Up.” This is now the sole wish of her foundation – and Jessie’s motto NEGU- Never Ever Give Up is now a worldwide symbol of hope, love and joy. The Jessie Rees Foundation has reached over 125,000 Courageous Kids fighting cancer and their families through the free year of JOY program. Each Courageous Kid fighting cancer that signs up at Jessie.org/joy gets their very own JoyJar. JoyJars are 64 ounce plastic jars filled to the brim with toys and send to the hospitals or the homes of kids fighting cancer.
Each year the compassionate hearts and smiles at the Foundation are celebrated at the annual Gala. The Jessie Rees Foundation Gala is an elegant, fun and inspiring evening filled with JOY. This year marks five years of celebrating Courageous Kids and the compassionate individuals and corporations that help spread Jessie’s message of JOY, and her motto to Never Ever Give Up. This year we will be celebrating the smiles at the Disneyland Hotel – one of Jessie’s favorite places! “Because of this one event each year, we get to send JoyJars to thousands of courageous kids fighting cancer around the world. Most importantly, this means we get to start a relationship with a child and a family, so we can provide them the needed long-term support and encouragement so they Never Ever Give Up!” – Erik Rees, Jessie’s Daddy.
The Jessie Rees Foundation fulfills their mission by connecting with families bringing awareness to their stories, offering them helpful resources and sending the entire family continual doses of encouragement throughout their journey. A $20 donation sends a JoyJar directly to a Courageous Kid fighting cancer. We NEGU, do you?
