An O.C. Hike That Will Make You Feel Like You’re in Arizona

Borrego Canyon Trail to Red Rock Canyon Trail, Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park

This is a relatively easy out and back trail located near Trabuco Canyon that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The 4.2 mile round trip trek begins off of Portola Parkway near Foothill Ranch and ends in a smooth red rock canyon like you’d see in Arizona. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. To get there, park at the Borrego Canyon Trailhead to begin your hike and at about 1.5 miles in look for signs for the Red Rock Canyon Trail. For better pictures, avoid harsh, midday light by going early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Photo credit: Johan Moreno
