The kitchen is often described as the heart of the home and it’s certainly at the heart of Debbie Nassetta’s profession as a Licensed Interior Designer and Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer. She and her husband Rick, a licensed general contractor, are the owners of Roomscapes in Newport Beach, a company dedicated to helping clients bring interior design projects to life.

“Coming up with solutions to our client’s space problems and fi tting in all the items on their wish list is very satisfying,” says Debbie. “ I love to present those fi rst designs to clients and see how amazed they are with the potential for their new kitchen or bath.”

According to Debbie, trends in the industry right now include the use of lots of white, giving rooms a clean expansive look. New textured woods are also popular design elements, including soothing grays and driftwood finishes in furniture and flooring. Noting that trends come and go, Debbie advises clients to consider timeless design elements when it comes to creating a beautiful kitchen.

“I personally love to have balance and symmetry in my designs.  I think all kitchens need a compliment of color, texture and finish,” she explains. “I love seeing the fi nal results of a design project and how happy the clients are.  I think that good design really improves your life!”
