Creating Natural-looking Outcomes

Ghada Afifi is an accomplished double board certified plastic surgeon who not only enhances physical appearances, she also transforms lives. A proponent of natural-looking outcomes, Dr. Afifi says she’s seeing more patients come in for surgical changes after nonsurgical options failed to provide the desired result. “My patients are very concerned about looking like “the housewives on TV” and actually prefer natural-looking results. I hear repeatedly ‘I don’t want to look different, just better.’ With that in mind, my goal is to help restore a more youthful look without giving away the fact that they’ve had surgery. Often, even my patients’ friends and family are not aware they’ve had surgery, noting that they just look more rested and youthful.” Dr. Afifi states that many Southern California faces look overfilled, with unnaturally plump lips, resulting in patients asking for “filler reversals.” Another common concern is the aging effect of tired eyes and sagging necks. “One simple outpatient procedure with rapid recovery can reverse those telltale signs. Technology has made surgery easier with less downtime, so one week off is what most procedures require.”

Recognized as a surgeon, teacher and humanitarian, Dr. Afifi began her career at the age of 17 when she was accepted into a competitive accelerated biomedical program. After earning her medical degree at the young age of 23, she completed her surgical training at Yale and Penn, after which she became a double board certified plastic surgeon. Today, her state-of-the-art plastic surgery practice boasts two beautifully appointed Orange County offices, specifically suited for her patients’ privacy and comfort.

Dr. Afifi also volunteers both in the states and abroad to help those less fortunate with traumatic deformities and birth defects lead normal, happy lives. “I am honored to be able to live my dream, so giving back is incredibly humbling and actually transforms me in return. You really do have to pay it forward.”
