Steps Up—anecdotes about your neighbors doing whatever they can to lift the community.

Last month, Blinking Owl Distillery in Santa Ana began the transition to producing much-needed hand sanitizer for the local community. Since that initial pivot, they have produced thousands of gallons and fulfilled orders for frontline healthcare and essential workers across Southern California.

They have made numerous bulk donations of hand sanitizer to local organizations in Orange County including CHOC (Children’s Hospital of Orange County), Huntington Beach Home Care, United Way, police officers, and local restaurants that are still open for takeout such as Farmhouse, Old Vine Cafe, Lola Gaspar, and Reunion Kitchen & Bar.

O.C.-based Bella Terra Oils teamed up with Blinking Owl donating 8,000 bottles, bottling equipment, and their time to help bottle the distillery’s Dirty Bird hand sanitizer.
