Seven years after fleeing the surfwear industry and opening a boutique in Laguna Beach, the owners of Laguna Supply have taken their coastal style to a corner of Corona del Mar.
Dana Marron, left, 48, and Laura Hart, 51, opened their second store in October. Small and bright, with rock-and-macrame hangings by local artist Jim Olarte, it faces the ocean, the ideal backdrop for their expert curation of chic, casual, cool inventory. You’ll find T by Alexander Wang, from $85; Closed
jeans, $235; and Vince and RtA, $999, which also are sold at the Laguna Beach store, along with the edgy but delicate diamond-
and-gold Zoey Hart jewelry designed by Hart and named for her daughter, $80 to $800. But they also carry a few new lines, including the Brussels-based Sofie D’Hoore cotton shirts, dresses, and accessories, $176 to $900.
Another is Italian knitwear from Ma’ry’ya. “We found the line on a buying trip to Paris,” says Marron, who owns a slouchy gray Ma’ry’ya sweater and notes that the lightweight knits are perfectly suited to our climate and their customers’ style, which they describe as “unique and young at heart.”
Their mission is to establish a lasting appeal. “We love to sell clothes,” says Marron, “but at the same time it’s not about the sale, it’s about the relationship with customers.”
