Don’t pass up Linksoul Lab because you don’t own a set of clubs. It has wider appeal than the name implies. The soft colors and golf-surf aesthetic of this flagship for Linksoul—an Oceanside-based men’s lifestyle brand—reflect its cool polos, crewneck sweaters, and button-downs of fine cotton and cashmere blends ($35 to $300). But it’s also home to other goods that come with a certain authenticity: Detroit-made Shinola watches, high‑end speakers and headsets from Bang & Olufsen, and handsome books on golf and surfing.
“Our clothing line has been around since 2009, and everything else we carry is based on our aesthetic and curated by our team,” says Linksoul director of retail Patrick Keegan. “We also collaborate with great brands—surfboards created with Affinità Surf, and golf hard goods from Miura, Edel, and Kronos.”
Keegan also spotlights local brands: Irvine’s OluKai shoes and Sanford Shapes skateboards, hand-shaped by Surf City native Don Sanford. French-made Ahlem sunglasses are designed in Venice Beach, and you’ll admire the clean lines and craftsmanship of Vessel’s lightweight canvas bags.
“Everything we do is transitional,” Keegan says. “We consider ourselves a coastal lifestyle brand. Our shirts and hybrid board shorts can transition from the golf course to the beach and back to the bar.”
