C Dobbs, a sunny boutique with large windowsand a warm owner. Her name is Carol Dobbs, and she’ll greet you with a big smile and a friendly hello in her lilting Caribbean accent. She owned Carol Rachelle two doors down before opening here in October. A one-time Nordstrom employee, Dobbs understands that good customer service leads to loyal clients. “My mission is not only to offer stylish quality merchandise, but also an experience by sharing the stories behind these products,” says the Tustin resident originally from Trinidad and Tobago. These narratives likely will involve local and many new or little-known women and men’s lines such as Barefoot Watches (around $60), designed by O.C. native and Olympic rower Brad Alan Lewis, and spring-summer menswear accessories by Newport Beach designer Mark Pomerantz (see Page 40). There are also Parisian-pretty dresses (up to $895) from Orange-based Roger Canamar Couture; hand-dyed scarves by O.C. artist Corrine Miller Schaff ($150); and popular digital-print men’s underwear ($39), Ts ($44), and trunks (up to $60) from French maker Pullin.
