In the area of Huntington Beach formerly known as Sunset Beach, a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway embraces what’s best about the community.

Fit Bar
At this juice bar, above, customers lounge on a big leather couch while flipping through old Surfer magazines and snacking on avocado toast, acai bowls topped with house-made granola ($8 to $12), and smoothies ($7 to $9) such as the Green Machine, a blend of avocado, cucumber, pear, lemon, spinach, parsley, honey, and coconut water. 16305 Pacific Coast Highway, 562-341-7675

Surf Cafea
This new cafe deftly blends modern coffeehouse sensibilities with boho-surfer vibes. People sit and chat while sipping seasonal latte ($6), pour-over coffee ($4), or rose lemonade ($5). The food selection is limited but tempting, with treats such as vegan donuts and chocolate croissants. 16182 Pacific Coast Highway, 562-794-9056

Taco Surf
The local institution has served Mexican food for more than 30 years. The menu features burritos, quesadillas, and tacos ($4 to $15), along with tamales ($13.50) and house-made chicken tortilla soup ($4.50). Colorful decorations, strings of twinkly lights, and live music on Saturday nights give the place a cheerful vibe. 16281 Pacific Coast Highway, 562-592-2290

Glow Hot Yoga
With a private dock on Huntington Harbour, this studio is the perfect spot to practice stand-up paddleboard yoga.
