Petals and Pop
Retail shop in Seal Beach. Another opens in June at Pacific City in Huntington Beach with a Champagne bar.

Favorite flower
I’m infatuated with hellebores and foxgloves, but my heart is more in love with foliage, like vines, all vines!

Signature specialty
Natural movement, free flowing, and Victorian

Flower you refuse to use
I guess the least likely I’d use would be Gerber daisies. But I have met one that I love! She looks like confetti. She’s a Dutch Gerber daisy … my kind of daisy.

Strangest request
About two years ago, a young bearded man walked into the shop and asked if I could bloom his beard. So I did.

Trend you love
Ribbons, ribbons, and more ribbons. The loose, effortless bouquets with gorgeous ribbons.

Trend you’re totally over
Flower balls! I need vines … I just do.

Favorite flower
It typically changes with the season.
Garden roses, poppies, ranunculus, chocolate cosmos, and peonies have to be my top five.

Signature specialty
Larger-than-life bridal bouquets and matching silk ribbons. I have my own ribbon line, Tono & Co. They are 100 percent silk, hand-dyed, frayed, and come in soft, beautiful colors.

Strangest request
I once had a bride ask for a bouquet for her dog. It was adorable but strange.

Trend you love
I do love abundant greenery. I have a few brides this year that want all greenery at their wedding, even the bouquets!

Trend you’re totally over
I’m actually a bit burnt out on the all blushy pink wedding! Adding some color to create contrast makes a huge difference. This year I already see the change. I look forward to more color!

Favorite flower
Tuberose. I love the fragrance.

Signature specialty
Creating complete environments from scratch, for any social event. … I like to tell a story with flowers.

An Example?
For a Winter Wonderland wedding, I would drape the ballroom in white, bring in white carpet, sequined linens, ghost chairs, flocked trees, crystal chandeliers, and use white orchids, Colombian hydrangeas, and Ecuadorian roses.

Flower you refuse to use
None. Every flower has its own unique charm.

Trend you love
That brides are more open to using touches of greenery. It creates movement and adds texture.
