Art historian and critic Julia Friedman, whose recent research has been on Wayne Thiebaud’s portraits, will discuss the painter’s work, including pieces in the museum’s current exhibit, “Wayne Thiebaud: Clowns.” Marking Thiebaud’s 100th birthday, the exhibit includes about 40 paintings, drawings and etchings of clowns the artist has made over the past five years.
