Taste of Huntington Beach Supports the Children’s Library―and a Diet-Free Afternoon

Somewhat unusual among food fests, this Sunday’s annual Taste of Huntington Beach is all-inclusive—no food tickets to buy or manage separate from admission. Of course, with more than 40 local restaurants providing samples of myriad food and drink, this might be a double-edged sword. But what a way to go!

You’ll be in very good company. Orange Coast Senior Editor Chris Christensen will be on the scene, professionally obligated to taste the entire gamut as a judge of the restaurant offerings. (Click for a list of participating restaurants.) Check your own picks against the judging panels’, while taking in live music from the Tijuana Dogs and surveying the silent auction.

All this recreating is for a very good cause, too. Proceeds benefit the Huntington Beach Children’s Library, for which more than $300,000 has been raised since 2002. Tickets for the noon-to-4 p.m. event at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex are $65 to $85. (More ticket info here.)
