Roy Choi’s ‘L.A. Son’ + Kogi BBQ @ Diamond Jamboree = Critical Mass

Villa Park High School graduate Roy Choi’s coming to Diamond Jamboree—and, he’s bringing Kogi. The modern restaurant magnate’s “L.A. Son” (Anthony Bourdain/Ecco, $30) autobiography is out, and, in a synergy of such perfection it risks rippling the fabric of the universe, the O.C. stop on his book tour is the wildly popular Irvine dining destination. Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. he’ll sign books, and the Kogi BBQ truck will serve. You can read more details here, including a crucial mention of additional parking.

Maybe some of you heeded my tweet of a few weeks ago and are already in line. Previously-purchased books are welcome at the signing, always a nice thing. I found the chapters covering Choi’s formative teenage years in Villa Park absolutely riveting, and I love that he often adds #OCSon to his own tweets, along with #LASon. We’re happy to have him.
