Organic, sustainable, fair-trade, full of ingredients that are good for you—a litany like that could add up to a self-congratulatory meh. That is SO not the case with Chocolatl raw-chocolate products, where in the end it’s the chocolate experience that reigns supreme, as I discovered when featuring the Santa Ana company on the Nibbles & Bits page last June in Orange Coast.
This Saturday, Feb. 11, come to The Ecology Center in San Juan Capistrano to hear the bean-to-bar Chocolatl story from founder Deanna Moore. Moore will talk about her work, and plenty of samples are indicated, in what is the first in the center’s new Tools of the Trade series, featuring local experts on various aspects of sustainable living. The 1 p.m. event is free, but RSVP here.
