Wine and a Harbor View

Plan now to attend the breezy, outdoor California Wine Festival in Dana Point April 15 and 16

I read about wine events every day. I envision them in candlelit restaurants and cellars, or at a big farm table in the midst of the vineyard. Which is why I enjoy the chance to sip hundreds of distinct California wines while enjoying stunning ocean and harbor views.
The California Wine Festival in Dana Point on April 15 and 16 is a choice experience for Orange County wine lovers. I’m a South County resident and can vouch for the scenery at the red-roofed Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa and Lantern Bay Park. The festival is charming and impressive, and includes reserve and rare tastings at sunset on Friday night and a Saturday afternoon chock full of California pours paired with ocean breezes. Advance ticket prices range from $69 to $185 (higher at the gate), and you can even arrange early entry and VIP passes. Plan ahead for parking, wear your comfiest shoes, and pack sunscreen and a jacket. Don’t miss pours from Napa’s Ahnfeldt Wines and Heitz Cellar from St. Helena. Both are tasty.
