Where to Wine and Dine this Halloween…

Halloween is the only holiday that is completely different depending on how old you are. In grade school, dreams of candy consume the mind for weeks prior to “the harvest”. Then there is the period where Halloween transforms into a night of heavy drinking and costumes that make your older-self blush. Fast-forward a few more years and before you know it, you’re out on the streets looking for the best houses to pillage for your little ones in the car. Finally, after you’ve seen and tried it all, the idea of turning the lights off on the driveway and enjoying a slice of warm pumpkin pie and hot cider is enough.

Not sure what category I fall into, but if you’re like me, the idea of a Halloween-themed meal is enough to give you goosebumps. When I found out The Cellar in Fullerton is hosting their 10Th Annual Dine With The Undead theme dinner, I nearly fell out my chair with excitement.

The Cellar is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Fullerton. While it can be difficult to find, look for the entrance hidden within the Villa del Sol courtyard. Once down the stairs, you’re in an old French cavern lost in time. The cool ambient temperature is perfect for aging wine with authentic lighting that glows like Disney’s Blue Bayou restaurant. The Cellar features a wine list that is both worldly and classic. Rare wines from France and California dating back to the mid 1980s reside here.

This Halloween weekend, The Cellar will host a four-course dinner served alongside zombies and other princes of darkness from the local Maverick Theater. Courses by Executive Chef Brandon Stein will feature seasonal ingredients that include pumpkins and butternut squash, alongside slow braised short ribs and a sweet candy corn verrine for dessert.

This menu is $59.99 per seat, for the evenings of October 29, 30 and 31st. You can RSVP at The Cellar by calling 714-525-5682 or reservations@cellardining.com.
