I know you’ll feel really bad for me when I tell you that this week’s post is inspired by my current cruise in the Mediterranean. But after taking in sunset after beautiful sunset from the ship, I can think of no better cocktail to enjoy than a Tequila Sunrise.
First of all, tequila is my favorite spirit, and secondly, it always transports me to a faraway land whether I’m on vacation or not. Luckily, I can now enjoy this simple and delicious drink anytime—whether traveling the sea or back in Orange County—thanks to the ship’s bartender, who was kind enough to share his version with me—and now with you.
Because this drink is so simple, every ingredient must be top-notch. All this drink requires is quality tequila of your choice, fresh-squeezed orange juice, a touch of lime juice, and that finishing touch of grenadine to give it its beautiful sunset color. Check out the recipe below and keep it on hand for those moments when you need a little vacay—like, every night. Cheers!
Crystal Serenity Tequila Sunrise
1.5 ounces top-quality tequila of your choice (they used Patron Silver)
4 ounces fresh-squeezed orange juice (trust me, making it fresh makes all the difference)
Juice from ½ lime
Dash of grenadine
Add the tequila, orange juice, and lime juice in a chilled glass filled with ice. Float the grenadine on top, and garnish with an orange slice if you prefer. Relax and enjoy.
