If you’re looking for a great place to enjoy a cocktail and a view, it doesn’t get any better than Studio at the Montage in Laguna Beach. The innovative cocktails at this stunning gem on the cliff overlooking the Pacific elevate farm-to-table to a whole new level.
For those who favor vodka, this post is for you. Utilizing the kitchen as a lab, the Studio team, led by executive chef Craig Strong, experiments with seasonal ingredients from the resort’s garden to create house-distilled spirits for their new cocktail menu.
I was lucky enough to try the Seasonal Garden Martini—it’s not listed on the menu, but ask and you shall receive. Made from a selection of herbs—lemon verbena was the aromatic of choice that week—and served straight up in a martini glass with a twist, this concoction will have you asking “is there any alcohol in here?”
It’s incredibly smooth without even a hint of a burn. All you’ll notice is clean, citrusy flavor—aromatherapy at its best—or at least my kind of aromatherapy! Give it a try over your usual clean martini and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
