Whenever I feel the spring vibe in full force, I crave a beverage that’s cool and refreshing—something sweet and salty and maybe a little bit tart. I found it in this pink grapefruit margarita. I’ve been making this recipe for years, and it adds just the right twist on a traditional favorite. It’s great to enjoy by itself on a hot day, or as a fun addition to any backyard fiestas. After a single sip,  you’ll be happy to have it in your repertoire.

Pink Grapefruit Margarita
Yield: Six Drinks

1 cup ruby red grapefruit juice
½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice – about 4 limes
1 cup triple sec orange liqueur
3 cups ice
1 cup white tequila
salt for the rims (optional)
If you’re salting the rims, rub a little lime juice around the edge of each glass first and dip the rim gently in a plate of salt and set aside to dry. Next, combine the grapefruit juice, lime juice, triple sec, and ice in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour into a large pitcher and stir in the tequila. Pour over ice in a tumbler and say “Ahhhh.”
