Seeking some slightly untraditional Thanksgiving sides this year? Well, I’ve got just the fix for you. Social, an ingredient-focused, new-American inspired restaurant in Costa Mesa, is offering patrons a liquid version of a holiday classic—Apple Pie, with its Apple of My Pie cocktail ($12.50).
Social’s all-star bar team, including lead mixologist Mike West, creates one-of-a-kind craft cocktails using only house-made syrups, cordials, and bitters—and this concoction is no exception.
Made from Herradura Double Barrel tequila reposado, dry gin, spiced pear liqueur, baked apple shrub, and cinnamon meringue, the Apple of My Pie oozes the comforting, spicy goodness of the real deal—except this version is much more fun. “Everything that goes into these cocktails is eccentric and interactive. We really want to take cocktails to the next level,” West says.
So go ahead and indulge all you want this holiday season, but be sure to save some room for a slice of liquid pie.
