I’m an avid baseball fan. Nothing’s better than a day or evening at the ballpark. We’re spoiled to have the Angels team and the great Angel Stadium in our backyard. The sights, smells, and sounds of a busy stadium make me giddy. Aware of the many wine lovers in Orange County, Angel Stadium management is working to break the stereotype that baseball is for beer only. Alongside the beer options, attendees can also purchase a glass of wine at locations throughout the stadium, and they can choose from more than 14 different pours.

It makes sense that the wine list is mainly California-based, paying homage to the breadth of varietals and brands throughout our state. Since a glass wouldn’t last most wine-drinkers much past warm-ups, it’s also possible to purchase a bottle to take to your seat. It’s served in an Angel’s souvenir carafe with two stemless wine glasses. The wine program gets more extensive if you’re a suite guest, dining in the restaurants, or experiencing in-seat service. There is even a tableside sommelier in the form of the VINU app on tablets at the Diamond Club. I can’t wait to get to the ballpark myself and enjoy a glass (OK, bottle) while reveling in America’s favorite pastime.
The Angels are playing at home July 15 to 17 versus the Chicago White Sox; July 18 to 20 versus the Texas Rangers; and July 28 to 31 against the Boston Red Sox.
