Many of the county’s ballet and dance studios put on their own “Nutcracker,” each with a slightly different take on the holiday classic. All of these productions feature local children, and some of them (such as Festival Ballet Theatre) have guest artists from professional companies. In addition, American Ballet Theatre returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts with its production by resident choreographer, Alexei Ratmansky, Dec. 9 through 18 (scftaorg). It also prominently features local children.
