Disneyland Pop-Up
Consider yourself the ultimate Disney fan? You’ll want to get to Pop-Up Disney! A Mickey Celebration this weekend at Downtown Disney District. Oversize backgrounds in several themed areas provide a unique opportunity for photos galore. From the early days of Steamboat Willie to worldwide scenes of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to go Instagram crazy. At Home in the Garden
Head to the home wing of South Coast Plaza this weekend to see the two-story “Under the Sea” display and get ideas from several other gardens. Also be sure to check out the cooking demonstrations at Stonewall Kitchen. Chef-owner Ross Pangilinan of Terrace by Mix Mix, one of Orange Coast’s 2019 Best New Restaurants, will present Saturday morning.

Diversity and The Creative Economy
Best-selling author and urbanist Richard Florida will be the keynote speaker at this symposium at Montage Laguna Beach from 8 a.m. to noon on April 29. The event also features a performance by students from Orange County School of the Arts, and a panel discussion with Florida, co-founder of the Laguna Beach LGBTQ Heritage & Culture Alliance Chris Tebbutt, and local business leaders including Mo Honarkar and Alex Rhodes. Dance Tuesdays on the Plaza
April 30 will be the final opportunity to participate in the Broadway dance series at Argyros Plaza. It’s fun and free, and you can put on your best Bob Fosse or Andy Blankenbuehler moves. Starting in May, the dance style shifts to Bollywood for a month.
