    Sangria was part of my life growing up, and I polished off many bottles of Spanada, one of a long line of fruit-wines blends introduced by E.&J. Gallo. It was first released in 1970, a time when the country’s palate was changing from dessert to table wines. I spent many evenings sipping Spanada over dinners with paramours.   • Russian Ballet Superstars Twinkle Locally This Weekend

    The renowned Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev return to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts this weekend on a center-commissioned program, “Solo for Two.” They will premiere a new piece by Ohad Naharin, the acclaimed Israeli choreographer at the helm of the Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv. We caught up with Naharin just before he was to begin work with the couple on “Passo.” Their four performances will also include American premieres by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, of Belgian and Moroccan descent, and Portuguese dance-maker Arthur Pita.
