Life IVF Center

Chapman Medical Center
About 10 percent of couples struggle with infertility. For the last three decades, In vitro fertilization (IVF) has helped many couples to conceive. The severe complications of fertility medications, such as ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), and the high cost
of these fertility medications make many couples afraid of IVF treatment. For those who worry about the health concerns surrounding conventional IVF, there is another excellent option. Life IVF Center (LIC) in Irvine is a unique fertility center specializing in Natural Cycle
IVF. It is a safe, successful and cost effective method where a woman’s naturally selected egg can be collected, fertilized and cultivated without the use of fertility medications. Depending on the age and condition of the patient, minimal stimulation IVF is also available. This
process uses minimal oral medication with two to three injections.

“We offer a more natural but successful option to help patients achieve their goals of having a child,” says Medical Director, Frank
Yelian, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Yelian has over 20 years of experience in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine. He was recently awarded the Orange County Medical Association 2013 Physician of Excellence Award.

Established in May 2010, LIC is now one of the largest and most successful IVF centers in Southern California. LIC has helped many patients with challenging cases conceive through natural cycle (NC) IVF or minimal stimulation (MS) IVF. Here are few great examples:
A 37 year old woman with diminished ovarian reserve that continued to have no follicular growth came to the center. Her FSH levels
were very high (between 20 and 40). Her highest FSH level was 99 mIU/ml. After multiple failed IVF attempts at various clinics, it was
suggested that she use donor eggs. After a few trials of both NC IVF and MS IVF at LIC, she successfully conceived and delivered
healthy twins using her own eggs. Another couple from Houston struggled with infertility for four years due to severe endometriosis
and tubal dysfunction. They needed to use IVF to conceive, but were afraid of fertility medication side effects. At LIC, using NC IVF,
embryo genetic testing, and a single blastocyst transfer, she delivered a healthy baby girl without using any fertility medications. Other
successful case studies include a woman with secondary infertility that had a 24 year-old daughter; the couple really wanted to have
another child, preferably a boy. At LIC with three MS IVF and one PGS (Pre-implantation Genetic Screening) test, the woman delivered
a healthy boy at the age of 48 using her own egg! These challenging cases might cause other centers to suggest using donor eggs, but
LIC offers hope – and results!

“We do not turn patients away because of advanced age, few follicles, or high FSH levels. There is still hope and we will try our
best to help them,” says Dr. Yelian. “Our goal is to use the least amount of medication to produce the best outcome while delivering
compassionate and personalized care.”
