Q&A with Virginia Webber, volunteer trail guide for the Irvine Ranch Conservancy
Why a guided hike?
It’s a really wonderful entry into the open space. We provide interpretive programs that help people identify characteristics of the land.
What’s your favorite area within the wild lands, and why?
There’s something to love about everywhere we volunteer. Limestone Canyon is the most pristine, and it has miles of trails. It also has the Sinks, which is this millions-of-years-old sandstone formation that gives you a glimpse of geologic history.
Any advice for visitors?
To carry away from the trail the feeling that they have when they’re there. They arrive happy, they’re happy on the trail, and they’re happy when they leave.
